A severe earthquake hit Nepal on 25 April, with many people killed and injured. Many historic Karma Kagyu buildings have also been damaged. Diamond Way Buddhist centers worldwide are collecting donations to be used to help the people affected by the earthquake.
The Diamond Way Buddhism Foundation has also published a special earthquake-related page on their Swayambhu website dedicated to the restoration project of now severely damaged Karmapa and Shamarpa’s monastery on the famous UNESCO heritage site of Swayambhu hill. It contains collected information on the current situation of monasteries of our lineage in Nepal. You can find out more here:

Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, has written a condolence letter regarding the earthquake, in which he requests his students to recite mantras for those affected. You can read Karmapa’s letter here:
