The Summer Course requires approximately one year to be prepared
Every year around the beginning of August Diamondway Buddhists from all over the world meet at the Europe Center in Immenstadt, Allgäu to receive teachings and empowerments for their daily practice and come together to exchange news and informations. Connecting with people from other centers and countries and creating bonds of friendship and compassion is as important as working together at the International Summer Course.
And last but not least, spending a nice summer time together is really joyful.
But before the course can start, we have to prepare the place with lecture tents, kitchen- and dining tent, child care, medical area, shops and all the necessary facilities, all done by ourselves. We call it the „building up phase“, which is the last part of long planning sessions throughout the year before.
The Beginning
After this, Lama Ole started the International Summer Course 2025 on July 28th
And the amazing and touching exhibition „Lama Ole – A lifetime fulfilling the wishes of the 16th Karmapa“ opened its doors and was shown during the whole course.
Travel Teacher Panels – Meditation- Meet and Connect
The following week and the first part of the second week we enjoyed meditating together, listening to the Travel Teacher Panels, a vivid and inspiring style for lectures. Travel Teachers are Diamondway students of Lama Ole, whom he had asked to give teachings in his name all over the world, so that his students are able to get in touch with the Dharma frequently.

Every year Lama Ole selects 3 international projects to be supported by the International Sangha during the following year. These so called „3 projects“ are presented at the EC Summer Course to share information and joy with everybody.
In the evenings there were most interesting topics in the „meet & connect area“, a dedicated place for information, presentations and discussions.
And of course we had a lot of good talks, live music and parties after the official program.
Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche
From July 31st to August 3rd Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche followed the invitation of Lama Ole to visit EC.
He gave Empowerments on Loving Eyes and Red Wisdom / Dorje Phagmo, as well as teachings on the mind training as part of the Preliminary Practice of Ngöndro and oral transmissions (tib.: lung) for our meditation practice.
Nedo Rinpoche
At the end of the second week Nedo Rinpoche came on invitation of Lama Ole
and we were able to receive the Milarepa Empowerment – to solidify our work, the oral transmission of the Ngöndro texts (tib.: lung) and teachings on the Ngöndro Practise, Guru Yoga and other Dharma topics.
Dismanteling
Right on the dot of the last teaching session the „dismanteling phase“ started, where we „dissolve the Mandala“, which means taking down the tents and removing all the infrastructure, we had been building up some weeks before.
Like every year, the Course started as a slow motion movie, accelerated speed and was over in a second – so we are looking forward to 2026 to meet again for a marvellous building up . . .
