In addition to the many eminent lamas who have expressed their shock at Shamar Rinpoche‘s death and their admiration of his qualities and achievements in condolence letters recently, His Majesty the 4th King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, has written to Rinpoche’s brother Lama Jigme Rinpoche of his sadness at the loss of Shamar Rinpoche, whom he considered a “close and dear friend”.
