Karmapa Thaye Dorje inaugurates Nala Gompa near Kathmandu

In a recent four day ceremony, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, inaugurated Dhagpo Sheydrub Ling, Maniwa Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche’s monastery near Kathmandu. Karmapa and Rinpoche were joined by many Karma Kagyu lamas and rinpoches, including Beru Khyentse Rinpoche, Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, and Lama Ole Nydahl.

Several thousand students gathered from around the world to celebrate the opening of this new jewel of the Kathmandu valley. The beautiful monastery is built in the traditional style, and with the finest craftsmanship in architecture, decoration, and painting, the monastery is home to numerous unique statues and wall paintings.
